I chose Patti Mollica as my artist that has the similar theme of "travel".
Patti Mollica studied at Syracuse University and developed a career in graphic design and illustration. Her work is about capturing the scene, rather than capturing it and making it literal. She works quickly so that there’s no time to “sweat the details” she says, which I really admire about her work because it really shows a good representation of a bigger picture.
Patti Mollica believed that truly great painting is not about the “subject matter”, but rather about the way an artist communicates beauty, sensitivity and integrity. A lot of her work is inspired from New York City, and just capturing other environments.
Mollica’s work is said to be distinguished for its "bold brushwork and color, its unique, creative design and its very contemporary flair. " I plan to be creative with my work as she is. She currently lives and works with her fellow artist and jazz musician husband in New York City.
Her work relates to my theme because she wants to really get the "bigger picture", which is what I plant to do while I recreate scenes and places from all around the world!

Here you can see how she was able to paint the ciaos of New York in just one painting.
In this painting, she decided to paint a more rural part of an area, which I may decide to do as well.
Most of her paintings are focused in New York, but she decided to "travel" and paint another scenery.
