Our work was based off of Patrick Dougherty, his work is made out of sticks and involved with nature. He has made a fort, and also random shapes, and abstract work out of these sticks. For our project we decided to work off his abstract work, so we decided to make abstract work just like Dougherty did using random shapes.
In the pictures above, this is some of Patrick Dougherty's work, he mostly used abstract work and shapes and lines to create his art.
Above are the pictures of all the shapes that we made out of cardboard. We made a bigger circle and a smaller circle, as well as a bigger triangle and a smaller triangle, and then a rectangle, On all of them we decided to fill them in with either ribbon or yarn to give some color and to make it more abstract. We took the abstract shapes and the way Patrick filled them in and put into our work. Originally, we were suppose to glue these shapes onto a cardboard, but instead we decided to do something different, just like Patrick Dougherty's pieces are. We decided to hang all of the shapes from the biggest triangle, and hang it up from the ceiling.
